Strikes at BAA airports look likely to have been averted

Strikes at BAA airports look likely to have been averted, after trade unions accepted a revised pay offer from the airport operator. The new deal includes a 2% unconditional pay rise, as well as a guaranteed airport profit bonus of £500 for 2010. Members of the three unions involved, Unite, PCS and Prospect, will be now be balloted on the proposed pay deal, with a result expected in about three weeks.
